HIGHWAY STAR (OTOMO THE COMPLETE WORKS) – Katsuhiro Otomo

This is a collection of 12 short manga by Katsuhiro Otomo, created between 1976 and 1977 when he was 22 or 23 years old, in the order in which they were published.

The collection contains mainly works from “Short Piece” (reprinted by Futabasha in 1984), the author’s first book of short stories published by Kisotengaisha in 1979, two stories from “GOOD WEATHER” (1981) published by Kitan-sha, and three stories including the title story from “Highway Star” (1979) published by Futabasha.

Although none of the stories are included in this book for the first time, all of them are currently available only in this book, as they are out of print. Of course, all of the works included in the book are based on the latest data created from the original drawings, and the aged deteriorated parts have been repaired, and printed on high-quality paper in a larger format than the previous editions. All the colored manuscripts are reproduced in color for a complete edition!

Katsuhiro Otomo has created world-class titles one after another and has the face of a creator who is not bound by genres such as manga artists, illustrators, film directors, and scenario writers. “OTOMO THE COMPLETE WORKS” is the author Katsuhiro Otomo himself who overlooks, summarizes, and re-produces all of the various “all works” in chronological order.
