Costume designer Satomi Ito commemorates the 10th anniversary of her work in figure skating costumes with the publication of a postcard book.
The book focuses exclusively on the costumes she has created for Yuzuru Hanyu, the skater she has worked with most frequently over the past decade, and includes newly taken photos of the costumes and design sketches.

From “The Final Time Traveler” and “The Phantom of the Opera,” the first programs for which Ito designed costumes for Yuzuru Hanyu, to “Hope & Legacy,” which scored the highest in the world, and “SEIMEI” and “Spring, Come” from the Pyeongchang Olympics, the book includes photos of 17 costumes made between 2014 and 2020. The book is bound with removable adhesive.
●Newly Photographed Costume Photos
All the costume photos are newly taken by Ito herself. The book features close-ups of decorations and embroideries not visible from the audience seats or on TV, highlighting details that the creator wants to draw attention to from a fan’s perspective.
●Includes All Original Design Sketches
The book also includes the original design sketches made during the concept stage of the costume designs (including proposals made in consultation with Hanyu or at his request). These valuable sketches are also enjoyable as postcards.
