Toshiyuki Shimada
Born in Kobe. Graduated from Osaka College of Music. Short-term payroll training dispatch to the Paris Conservatoire. Completed various diplomas including the Royal College of Music (London) ARCM. Then learn from Vienna. He has won numerous awards in contests and has performed in numerous concerts.
He started knitting in addition to craft since his student days, while specializing in textiles mainly in knitting during his stay in Europe, participated in workshops of famous designers and served as an assistant.
In addition, he receive introduction of traditional technique from knitter of each place. Currently, he is widely active in books, lecturers, TV appearances, overseas design requests and translated books.
Based on traditional knitwear such as Fair Isle knit and Shetland lace, it is also popular for works in free styles, and has gained a good reputation for its delicate coloring and technique.
