Satoshi Kako is a picture book author who has made great contributions to the world of children’s books by writing numerous works loved by children. This set includes hardcover editions of her works from the monthly picture book “Kagaku no tomo”.

Author profile
Satoshi Kako
Born in 1926 in what is now Echizen City, Fukui Prefecture.
He graduated from the Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, University of Tokyo. He is a doctor of engineering. He is a professional engineer (chemistry). He is also a researcher of children’s culture. Currently, he is active mainly in publishing.
The works are the “Kako Satoshi Story Book” series, “Beautiful Picture”, “Daruma-chan” series, “Where is Toko-chan”, “Kako Satoshi Body Book” series, ” More than 600 items, including Traditional Play Thoughts.
In 2008, he received the Kan Kikuchi Prize, and in 2009, he received the Special Achievement Award from the Chemical Society of Japan.
