Yumeji Takehisa
painter, poet. Born in Okayama Prefecture on September 16, 1884 (Meiji 17).
He began his career as a painter, starting from his contribution of panel paintings to magazines and newspapers, and before long he took the world by storm with his beautiful paintings.
His representative works include “Kurofunaya”, “Satsuki no Asa”, and “Aoyama River”. In addition to painting and illustration, he was active in a wide range of genres, including designs for chiyogami, yukata, and book bindings, as well as poetry and haiku. In 1934, he passed away at the age of 51.
