Nagai said that when he visited Guam and California with his benefactor Teruhiko Yumura and friends, he encountered scenes such as palm trees, blue skies, and greenery reflecting light, and decided the direction of his illustrations.

Since starting his career as an illustrator in 1976, he has continued to draw what he likes, and has maintained a consistent style throughout the years. , he continues to receive offers from Japan’s leading companies and the respect of many artists, and he continues to live a busy life even after he is over 70 years old.

The newly edited collection of works “THE JOURNEY BEGINS” contains works selected by Hiroshi Nagai himself, from early works to recent works, poolside, cars, people, nightscapes, waves, buildings, and synonymous. A palm tree swaying in the wind… Only works that everyone has seen at least once in record jackets, advertisements, books, etc. were selected.
