Author profile
Shin Ueda
Born in Aomori Prefecture in 1949, he spent five years as the last live-in apprentice of Shigeru Komatsuzaki before becoming an independent illustrator. Since then, he has been active in a wide range of box art work for plastic model companies such as Tamiya and Bandai. He has continued to create a vast number of illustrations in the military field to this day, producing a diverse array of works regardless of technique. He has also authored many military-themed books, including “Combat Bible,” “Great Illustrated Book of Weapons of the World,” and “Mechanical Encyclopedia of Tanks of the World.”
