Shigeru Tamura began his career as a package designer, and in 1976 published the picture book “Ari to Suika” and started his career as a freelance illustrator. In this collection, Tamura categorizes his works into five genres, with a focus on works presented at his recent solo exhibitions.

Shigeru Tamura
Born in Tokyo in 1949. His picture books include Ari to Suika (Poplar Publishing) and Snail Taxi (Fukukan Shoten). . Received the Sankei Children’s Publishing Cultural Award Grand Prize for “Yoru no Oto” (Kaiseisha), and the Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival Animation Division Grand Prize for “Jumping Whale”.
