Author profile
Keita Kurosaka
Born in Tokyo in 1956. Animation filmmaker.
Since the 1980s, he has released independently produced short animated films. His work The Morning Daddy Flew Away (1997), directed as an MTV station ID, gained worldwide attention.
He has won awards at various domestic and international film festivals, including Annecy and Ottawa, and has been featured in solo screenings worldwide.
Directed music videos for DIR EN GREY, including AGITATED SCREAMS OF MAGGOTS (2006) and Rinkaku (2012). His first feature-length animated film, MIDORI-KO (2010), premiered in Japan and was screened in numerous countries.
Since 2014, he has been creating “moving sketches” using pencil drawings and has performed live improvisational drawing sessions.
He also teaches at Musashino Art University and Kanazawa College of Art.
