In the weekly magazine for boys that appeared with the postwar reconstruction, the war memorial boom has arrived, boosted by the popularity of plastic models. Especially popular was the battleship Yamato, the king of the sea.
After the end of the war, battleship Yamato was incinerated as a top secret. The male figure, which the painters drew with an inflated image based on the few materials left, captivated the boys’ hearts.
In recent years, we have recorded works that decorated fictitious warfare novels, as well as precise illustrations based on seafloor exploration, and introduced the genealogy of battleship Yamato paintings that are shifting from illustrations to illustrations.
It is one of the must-have gems for battleship Yamato fans.
■ Full-color printing on all pages reproduces the texture of the original picture, such as the touch of paint and pencil lines.
