Terryl Whitlatch
He is a veteran and active top-tier creature designer. With deep knowledge in zoology and anatomy (especially vertebrates), he cleverly combines his advanced illustration skills and precise scientific knowledge to continuously create unique creatures that evoke a sense of reality.
In addition to working in zoos and museums across the United States, he also serves as a senior advisor to the licensing department of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Over a career spanning more than 25 years, he has been involved in various movies as a staff member, including “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”, “Jumanji”, “Men in Black”, “Brother Bear”, “Dragonheart”, “Alvin and the Chipmunks”, “Curious George”, “The Polar Express”, and “Beowulf”. He is also teaching creature design and three-dimensional composition/anatomy at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
