Ban Jisu

A popular illustrator in South Korea. While creating illustrations, animations, and manga, she also writes. She once thought she would become a filmmaker, but before she knew it, she was working in the publishing industry. She spends most of her days reading books, writing, and drawing.

Her published works include Ordinary Is Good, Ban Jisoo’s Book Illustrations, and A Coloring Book Journey Through Korea’s Four Seasons with Two Cats. She illustrated the manga Your Insta—Would You Like to Live in a House with a Garden? and has created cover illustrations for books such as The Inconvenient Convenience Store, Wizard Bakery, Welcome to Hyunam-dong Bookstore, and The Restaurant of Many Orders.

With the books she has illustrated becoming bestsellers, she continues to receive enthusiastic offers from the publishing world. In the future, she hopes to create picture books, manga, essays, and art books. Her only dream is to keep drawing, even when she becomes a grandmother.
