Hand-drawn signs with a charming, human touch that only people can create. The art of acrylics that we pass by without a second thought. Introducing the fun signs that peek out from street corners.
Featuring familiar characters from local shopping district signs, banners, neon lights, shutters, window stickers, and signboards. Even if they are not from famous companies, these familiar faces are dear to the people living in the area, and we delight in categorizing and introducing them.
Outdoor advertisements rarely leave formal records, yet they reflect the lifestyle, culture, and trends of the times, serving as familiar art that has been seen by passersby for decades.
A selection of masterpieces by authors who travel across Japan to record these signs. Interviews with the creators who remember those times are also invaluable.
