Japan Typography Annual 2024

In ten categories, including typeface, logotype, mark, symbol, CI, VI, and pictograms, this book provides an overview of the latest trends in Japanese typography.

This book features over 400 works selected by 14 judges from the Japan Typography Association. The works were widely accepted from overseas through public submissions and were rigorously judged by a panel of members and the previous year’s Grand Prix winner. Among all the entries, one “Grand Prix” is awarded, along with “Best Work Awards” for each category and “Judges’ Awards” given to highly evaluated works or artists chosen from individual perspectives.

The book also includes part of the creation process of the best works in each category.

At the beginning, it features contributions from international designers and typographers. Additionally, contributions from the ‘Japan Typography Yearbook 1985’ are reprinted.
