Author Kaho Nashiki wrote a story inspired by Makoto Kagoshima’s pottery, resulting in a unique picture book.

Upon receiving a request saying, “Makoto Kagoshima, a ceramic artist, is hosting an exhibition. Would you be willing to create a story inspired by his new works?” Kaho Nashiki spent time meticulously observing each of the 200 pieces featuring various colors, shapes, and depictions of plants, horses, elephants, snakes, and other creatures. Nashiki then crafted a story based on these observations.

After reading Nashiki’s story multiple times and contemplating it deeply, Makoto Kagoshima created a new piece for the final scene of the story.

Thus, this book came into existence. It invites you to meet the snake that lives in a puddle, much like a horse that leans over to look into it.
