Author profile
Masato Ohata
Born in 1985 in Chiba Prefecture. Graduated from the Oil Painting Department, Printmaking Course at Musashino Art University. Joined MIC Corporation in 2013, where he worked in the digital prototype team and handled numerous commercial prototypes. In 2015, he debuted his original sculpture “contagion girl” at the Wonder Festival. His second original work “survival01:Killer,” presented at the following year’s winter Wonder Festival, was selected as the seventh installment in the Amazing Artists Collection (AAC) by Mamegyorai. He was chosen as a Japanese guest artist for the Wonder Festival 2018 Shanghai Prestige. In 2018, he published his first art collection “Masato Ohata Art Collection ZBrush + Sculpting Techniques” (Genkosha). In 2022, he worked as the character designer for the NHK puppet show “Funtane!” Currently, he is active as a freelance prototype artist.
