This book introduces how to create “Wakuneco,” a framed portrait of a cat. It provides detailed explanations on various aspects of crafting, including how to create eyes, whiskers, patterns, and fur textures.
The vibrant expressions of these cats make them seem almost alive, as if they’re truly accompanying you. Having a “Wakuneco” in your room is sure to be a comforting presence, with its gaze bringing a sense of calm. With these techniques, you can capture the unique features of your own cat and create a personalized, original work.
To make it accessible for beginners, the first chapter covers basic tools and felting techniques. Advanced crafters will also find enjoyment, as the book includes plenty of high-level techniques.

Author profile
Sachi
She first learned about wool felt at a handicraft store she happened to visit in 2015, and began making wool felt cats. She purposely does not pose, and instead creates “wakuneco” in a style that looks like an ID photo in a frame.
Currently, she is taking orders for her pet cat, Wakuneco, and is posting photos of Wakuneco, the production process, and wool felting techniques on Instagram and YouTube.
