Author profile
Yuji Tezuka
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1953. He was first selected for the Inten Exhibition while studying at Tokyo University of the Arts. Became a member of the Nihon Bijutsuin (Japan Art Institute) at the young age of 39, playing a central role in the Japanese art world from an early age. He has also left a significant mark as an educator, guiding younger generations at his alma mater.
Currently, he is a member and executive director of the Nihon Bijutsuin, an honorary professor at Tokyo University of the Arts, and the special director of the Fukui Prefectural Museum of Art.
