Shuntaro Tanikawa EHon Hyakka-Ten

This book is the official pictorial record of the exhibition “Shuntaro Tanikawa EHon ★ Hyakka-Ten” (held at PLAY! MUSEUM from April 12 to July 9, 2023) related to Shuntaro Tanikawa’s picture books, and picture books that could not be introduced at the exhibition.

Known as a poet, Mr. Tanikawa is also a master of picture books, and has worked on a wide variety of picture books in his creative activities for about 70 years.

Introducing a total of 172 works, from the “picture book” self-published by Mr. Tanikawa in his 20s in 1956 to the latest work “Here is Home” in 2023, along with rich visuals. A large amount of interviews (in Japanese) with Mr. Tanikawa about his memorable works, long-selling works, and monumental works that breathed new life into the picture book industry are recorded.
