Mirocomachiko (1981-), who won the 18th Japan Picture Book Award Grand Prize for her debut picture book, “Okami Ga Tobu Hi” (2012, East Press), burst onto the publishing scene like a comet.
Since then, she has won a succession of picture book and literary awards both in Japan and abroad, and her new works are always highly anticipated.
On the other hand, she is also known for her style of spontaneously depicting living creatures and plants, and her activities as a painter are also attracting attention.
The official catalog introduces all the charm of the exhibition, including recent and new paintings, illustrations, art direction works, original illustrations for picture books, and three-dimensional works.
The color illustrations convey the dynamic power of the works with double-page spreads, and the gravure photographs and interview pages depicting life on Amami Oshima Island convey the dense natural atmosphere of the island.

Born in Osaka in 1981. Painter and picture book writer. Began working as a painter in 2004. The exhibitions of works such as individual exhibitions and group exhibitions are energetically performed all over the country, and in a relaxed style, animals and plants are drawn vividly and attract attention. We are also focusing on workshops mainly for children. In 2012, she made her debut as a picture book in “Okami Ga Tobu Hi” (East Press).
