Born in Shizuoka prefecture in 1948. He is active in a wide range of fields such as picture books, painting production, and live painting. Received numerous awards such as the Shogakukan Painting Award for “Enso-kun Kishaninoru” (Fukuinkan Shoten) and the Japan Picture Book Award Grand Prize for “Blackinder” (East Press).
