A new challenge for artist Izumi Kato. In addition to the works exhibited in his solo exhibition at the Watari-um Museum of Contemporary Art, the entirety of his latest “Plastic Model Series,” which traverses art and plastic models, is on view.

“Making a stone into a plastic model. It is a ridiculous product, but for me it is the process of creating a work of art.” Izumi Kato, a talented artist who leads the contemporary art scene, has arrived at “plastic models.

The magazine includes a self-explanation of how he came to plastic models and a long interview that delves into the artist’s inner world.
