Artist Daisuke Tajima’s first collection of works features an aggressive line that races through an endlessly expanding city of imagination, drawn with overwhelming imagination and superb artistic skill.
Influenced by American SF movies and Japanese animations seen in his childhood, and memories from his travels to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and mainland China, he uses pen and ink to fill vast canvases with skyscrapers.
This high-density monochrome space is an industrial and emotionless surreal world where only the inanimate can exist.
A world where people are excluded, buildings become the protagonists and continue to multiply, represents the artist’s own mental landscape, functioning as a sort of comforting place, distinct from reality—a metaverse in its own right.
