Pipe fences on roads, commonly known as “guard pipes,” are installed at the boundary between the roadway and sidewalk, at intersections, and on cliffs to prevent contact between people and cars or to redirect cars that have strayed from their path. Although essential for safety, they remain an unsung hero of the road.
